: In an effort to have the Illinois Department of Public Health’s licensing database congruent with the Administrative Code, the former license type “ A-EMT/ EMT-I – Advanced/ Intermediate Emergency Medical Technician” will be split out for each individual license types AEMT or EMT-I. This training shall include, but not be limited to, assessment and diagnosis, effective communication strategies, and management and care planning. : For license renewals occurring on or after January 1, 2023, Emergency Medical Services personnel must complete at least one one-hour course of training on the diagnosis, treatment, and care of individuals with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias per license renewal period.
